(1992) Toronto 4, Atlanta 2

The World Series is the championship series of Major League Baseball. The World Series is played between the American League and National League champions and the Series winner is determined through a best-of-seven playoff. The 1992 World Series games were played between the rival teams of Atlanta Braves and Toronto Blue Jays.

Both the teams revealed a good winning streak in their previous seasons. Owing to this, the match was believed to be an absolute thriller. However, the Blue Jays team proved to be more dominating over the Atlanta Braves and won the match by an impressive 4-2 mark.

Tom Glavine, who won 20 regular season games for the Braves, was dominant in the first game, allowing just four hits and one run. Meanwhile, Atlanta hitters scored three runs, all in the sixth inning, against 1991 Series hero Jack Morris. All three runs came courtesy of catcher Damon Berryhill's home run to right field. The second game saw the Blue Jays trailing by 4-3 when they came up in the ninth.
The third game was played in Toronto and was a real thriller, with the Braves leading by 2-1 mark in the eighth, only to see the Jays tie it up in the bottom of the inning on Kelly Gruber's solo homer. And in the bottom of the ninth, Candy Maldonado's bases loaded single off Reardon gave Toronto a 3-2 victory. However, the Blue Jays took a superior lead in fourth game with a 2-1 victory.

The Braves staved off elimination in fifth game owing to Lonnie Smith, who ruined over Jack Morris for a grand slam in the fifth inning, pacing Atlanta to an easy 7-2 victory. In the sixth game, the Braves trailed by 2-1 going to the bottom of the ninth. With runners on first and second, pinch-hitter Francisco Cabrera lined a ball to left field, which nearly got by Maldonado for a two-run double, but didn't. With two outs they went to extra innings and in the top of the 11th, Dave Winfield doubled off Charlie Leibrandt to make it 4-2.

The World Series game of 1992 was thrilling and a true entertainer for the audience. It marked new records with Toronto Blue Jays winning the game with a fair margin.
