The Olympic Games, or Olympics, are an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896.The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag. The 1994 Winter Olympics, held in Lillehammer were included 67 Nations, 1,737 athletes, 522 women, 1,215 men, and 61 events 9,054 volunteers 6,633 media with 2,615 written press, 4,018 broadcasters and arranged in the Country of the host city Norway for 1994. Candidate cities were Anchorage, Oestersund and Sofia. In these Olympic sports contains Bobsleigh, Ice Hockey, Skating, Skiing, Biathlon, and Luge. In 1986 the IOC, International Olympic Committee voted to change the schedule of the Olympic Games so that the summer and winter games would be held in different years. To adjust to this new schedule, the Lillehammer Games were held in 1994, the only time that two Games have been staged two years apart. The 1994 Games were extremely well organised and the Norwegian host' natural love of winter sports added a refreshing purity of spirit. Local hero Johann Koss won three speed skating events and set a world record in every one. Vreni Schneider won a complete set of medals in alpine skiing and Manuela Di Centa earned medals in all five cross-country events. Myriam Bedard won both women's individual biathlon races. Gustav Weder and Donat Acklin became the first repeat winners of the two-man bobsled. Pairs skaters Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov returned to repeat their Olympic victory of 1988. Classed fifth after the first run of the slalom, Vreni Schneider achieved such a dreamlike second run that she won the gold medal. She then earned a silver medal in the combined event and a bronze in the giant slalom. In that Lillehammer 1994 year Russian Federation achieved good position with hard working. They got 1, 8, 4 medals respectively Gold, Silver, Bronze in that specific year.
