Tennis is an outdoor sport which can be played between two players or four players. Players utilize a stringed racquet to hit a rubber ball, hollow inside covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court. In some places tennis is referred to as lawn tennis. This game started in England and was the most popular amongst the upper class of society. Presently tennis is an Olympic sport, as well as, it is played in various tournaments including the four Grand Slams in many countries, by people of all ages and classes.
 
May Sutton was a United States professional tennis player. She was born on September 25th, 1886. She was a tennis champion and the first American to win the singles title at the Wimbledon Championships. In 1904 at age 18, May Sutton won the U.S. National singles championship. She also teamed up with Miriam Hall to win the ladies doubles title and advanced to the finals in mixed doubles as well.
 
In 1905 and 1907, she became the first American woman to win the Wimbledon singles title. In 1921 at the age of 35, she made a comeback and became the 4th ranked player in the USA. In 1925 she was the US Open doubles finalist at almost forty years of age. She was selected to play for America's Wightman Cup team. In 1928 and 1929 she and her daughter Dorothy Bundy became the first and only mother and daughter combination to be seeded at the US Open. In 1956, May Sutton was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. In 1904, 05, 07 she achieved the U.S. Championships, Wimbledon Championships and Wimbledon Championships part two respectively. 
 May Sutton with all her dedication and devotion in her play has achieved many goals in her overall tennis-playing career. She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts. She was a legendry tennis player known for an outstanding play during her time.
