Irina Spirlea is a former tennis player from Romania, who turned professional in 1990. She was born on March 26th, 1974 in Bucharest. Her height is 5 foot 9 inches and her weight is 150 pounds. She is a right-handed player. She was coached by Max Pace. In 1994 she won the first Women’s Tennis Association, WTA Tour title at Palermo. In 1997 at the Australian Open and the U.S. Open she reached her first career Grand Slam quarterfinal and was the first Romanian woman to reach a quarterfinal at the Australian Open.
 
Irina Spirlea achieved several awards. She was the recipient of the 1994 Women’s Tennis Association, WTA Tour Most Impressive Newcomer Award and was elected to the 1997 and 98 WTA Tour Players Association Board of Directors. She retired in 2000.
 
Irina Spirlea with all her dedication and devotion in her play has achieved many goals in her overall tennis-playing career. She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts. She was a legendry tennis player known for an outstanding play during her time.
