He finished in 8th position in ATP, Association Tennis Player Team Race and won sole title of year in Vienna after not dropping a set en route to defeating Novak Stepanek in final. One week earlier, lost in Moscow final to Federer Mirnyi reached first final of year at Sydney, losing to Johnson. He reached QF in Miami but lost to Correjta A. Martin. Sandon Stolle reached SF at Rome TMS, Toronto TMS, Adelaide, Indianapolis and Stockholm. In 1991 he qualified at Wimbledon and beat M. Kratzmann in 1st RD. In 1992 won first ATP doubles title in Taipei. In 1993 won doubles title in Sydney outdoor. In 1994 he won Sydney-outdoor, Osaka and TMS Cincinnati. In 1995 reached four finals, including US open. In 1996 he captured title in Ostrava and reached first ATP singles final in Nottingham. Sandon Stolle finished year-end best no. 58 in singles. In 1997 he compiled 23-19 record in singles, advanced in Nottingham and QF in four other stops. In 1998 he won three titles, including first Grand Slam at US Open. He also won titles in Newport and Los Angeles. He qualified for first ATP World Doubles Championship. In 1999 he won four titles in six finals and captured TMS titles in Indian Wells and Miami. He finished no. 5 in Team Race and no. 9 individually. In his career Stolle has won twenty-two ATP doubles titles, including one Grand Slam title in 1998 U.S Open and four Grand Slam finals. He has a 2-4 career Davis Cup record in five ties 1-4 in doubles.
