Richey Reneberg
Tennis is an outdoor sport which can be played between two players or four players. This game started in England and was the most popular amongst the upper class of society. Presently tennis is an Olympic sport, as well as, it is played in various tournaments including the four Grand Slams in many countries, by people of all ages and classes. There are three different court surfaces it is played on namely, clay court, grass court and hardcourt. One such renowned player of the epoch in tennis is Richey Reneberg. He is one of the finest tennis players with an international repute and recognition as the all time great professional. Richey was born on October 5, 1965 in the Phoenix suburb at USA, United Stated of America. Presently, he resides in the Bethesda city of USA. As a player, Richey listed a height of 5 feet 11 inches with a weight of 170 pounds and acquired a right handed playing style. He started playing tennis through the interest and enthusiasm in the sport when he watched the players battling for victories on the court at championship matches. Richey’s career highlights reveal his great performances including the 1987 season when he won the first Tour doubles title in Johannesburg with Jensen. He reached at the 1990 Tour singles final in Wellington for the first time and advanced to win the 1991 first singles title in Tampa. He also won the doubles titles in Sydney and Tokyo-indoor with Grabb and progressed to the 1992 doubles title finals at US Open and San Francisco, Rosmalen and Indianapolis. Richey underwent an arthroscopic knee surgery on July 23, 1998 to repair a partially torn meniscus and came back strongly to reach the quarterfinals in Philadelphia and Atlanta. In the 1999 review, the American enjoyed another consistent year in doubles, winning one tour title and one Challenger title. He earned the three-time All-America from 1985 to 1987 in Dallas and reached the 1986 NCAA, National Collegiate Athletic Association singles final. He was also nominated as ATP, Association of Tennis Professionals Newcomer of the year in 1987. Richey was a dominating player both in the singles and doubles, though most of his successes counted on the doubles, which earned him the top 50 rankings in overall career.
