Anke Huber
Tennis is an outdoor sport which can be played between two players or four players. Players utilize a stringed racquet to hit a rubber ball, hollow inside covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court. In some places tennis is referred to as lawn tennis. This game started in England and was the most popular amongst the upper class of society. Presently tennis is an Olympic sport, as well as, it is played in various tournaments including the four Grand Slams in many countries, by people of all ages and classes. There are three different court surfaces it is played on namely, clay court, grass court and hardcourt. Depending on the surface, each one provides a different movement of speed and bounce for the ball, which in turn affects the level of play of individual players. Anke Huber is well known tennis player. She was born on December 4th, 1974 in Bruchsal, Germany. Her height is 5 feet 8 inches, weighs 128 pounds and is a right-handed player. She won the 12th Women’s Tennis Association, WTA Tour in 2000, at Luxembourg; in 1995, at Leipzig in 1994, at Philadelphia in 1993, at Kitzbuhel in 1991 and at Filderstadt in 1990. She reached in the final 11 times. In 1997 and 2001 she won Paris Indoors, and Canadian Open, Australian Open in 1996, Los Angeles in 1995, and the WTA Tour Championships in 1993. She was nominated for 1991 and 1992, WTA Tour Most Improved Player Award and 1990 WTA Tour Most Impressive Newcomer. He was elected to the WTA Tour Players' Council for a second year in 1998 and 99 and was a spokesperson for the WTA Tour's First Serve school program. She was a player known for her mental toughness, and because of that, many of her most famous matches went the distance. She is still remembered as one of the legendry tennis players in her time.
