Tennis is an outdoor sport which can be played between two players or four players. Players utilize a stringed racquet to hit a rubber ball, hollow inside covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court. In some places tennis is referred to as lawn tennis. This game started in England and was the most popular amongst the upper class of society. Presently tennis is an Olympic sport, as well as, it is played in various tournaments including the four Grand Slams in many countries, by people of all ages and classes. Andy Ram was born on 10 April, 1980 in Montevideo, Uruguay. His height is 5 foot 11 inches and weight 182 pounds. He is a right handed player. In 1999, he won first career Futures singles title in Istanbul, 21-14 in Futures singles and 2-4 in Challengers. He claimed first career Futures doubles title in Antalya, Turkey, Futures. Also won in Uzbekistan Futures and reached two other finals for a 22-11 record. He won first career Challenger singles title at Bristol and won a Futures title in Mumbai, 15-12 in Challengers, 15-5 in Futures. He won first ATP, Association of Tennis Professionals doubles match at Indianapolis. He won three Challenger titles in four finals for a 19-11 record. Also he won two Futures in three finals for a 12-3 record. In 2001, he earned first career Davis Cup win in dead rubber against Luxembourg. He reached two Challenger finals and posted 26-20 record. In doubles, he made Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon and reached 2nd round and also played US Open. He was 36-14 in Challengers with five titles in six finals and won three straight titles in July-August. In 2003, he was winless in three ATP events, 7-6 in Challengers and claimed three ATP doubles title and won first career ATP doubles title in Indianapolis. Later in year, he claimed titles in Bangkok and Lyon. He teamed with Erlich to reach Wimbledon semi finals. He won a pair of futures titles in 2004 and made Grand Slam singles debut as qualifier at Wimbledon. In 2005, he won first title of year in Rotterdam and won again in Nottingham, reached 3rd round at Australian Open and Wimbledon and quarter final at US Open. He finished number 8 in ATP Doubles Race and ranked a year-end best number 15 individually.
