Shenay Perry
Tennis is a sport played between either two players, for Singles or two teams of two players, for doubles. In England, from where it is attributed that the modern game began in the late 19th century, refers to it as lawn tennis as it is used to be played predominantly on grass. The game spread throughout the English-speaking world amongst the upper classes. Now played on three different surfaces of clay, grass and hard courts, the movement of speed and bounce for the ball differs, affecting the level of play of individual players. In 1881 the desire to play tennis competitively led to the establishment of tennis clubs. The first championships at Wimbledon, in London were played in 1877. The U.S. National Women's Singles Championships were first held in 1887. Shenay Perry was on the born on the 6th of July 1984, in Washington DC, USA. She is 5 foot 7 inch, 146 pound right-handed player. In 2000, she debuted on ITF Circuit, reaching two quarterfinals got a Tour Singles Rankings of Number 1023. In 2001 she went 8-10 on International Tennis Federation Circuit. In 2002 she played her first Tour qualifying at Miami and her first Grand Slam qualifying at US Open, she improved her ranking from Number 610 to Number 268. In 2003, she made grand Slam debut at US Open and reached three ITF Circuit finals, winning two her first ITF professional titles. In 2004, her best season to date, by reaching career-high Number 69 ranking and even qualified at Australian Open. She played all majors in a single season for the first time and won three ITF Circuit titles. Her 2005 season highlights was in reaching her second and biggest quarterfinal of her career at Tier III, being unseeded she upset the Number 9 seed. She had her career-best Grand Slam showing by reaching, the 3rd round at Wimbledon, the 2nd round at the US Open, as a Number118 wild card she defeated the Number14 seed for here best career match victory and the 1st round at the French Open. In 2006, she equaled her career-best Grand Slam performance at the French Open reaching the 3rd round.
