Tennis is an outdoor sport which can be played between two players or four players. Nikolay Davydenko was one such tennis player who was born on June 2, 1981, in Severodonezk, Ukraine. She is a 5 foot 10 inches right handed player weighing 154 pounds. Nikolay began playing tennis at the age of seven with his older brother Eduard, who was a gifted player himself and has been a big influence in his career. He qualified in ATP, Association Tennis Professional, debut in Amsterdam and reached the semifinals. Two weeks later, he reached back-to-back Challenger semifinals at Wrexham and Togliatti. In August, he won his first Challenger title at Monchengladbach. In 2001 he made his Grand Slam debut at Australian Open and lost to Rafter in four sets in second round. He missed six weeks after injuring lower back and hip in first round at Dallas Challenger in February. In October, he captured his first career title on Russian soil in Moscow by winning singles and doubles titles. He saved one match point in semifinal win over Youzhny, then saved three match points in final against Rusedski. He compiled records of 19-12 on clay, 7-10 on hard, 7-4 on carpet, 0-3 on grass.
 
He captured one ATP title and advanced to seven other semifinals, including his first in a Grand Slam at Roland Garros and Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai. He was also a quarterfinalist in six other tournaments and played in most tournaments of any player in Top 10 and captured his lone title of season in May.
 
During indoor play, he reached the second round in Marseille and semifinal in Rotterdam. He opened US Open Series with first round exits at AMS Canada and Cincinnati, then he claimed his third title of 2006 by winning New Haven without dropping a set. The title marked his first title on U.S. soil. He is a unique and skilled tennis player who in his career drew many fans. Being one of the all-time revolutionary players, he was always applauded for his stunning effort contributing to the game. During his career till now, he has won several titles and has always been in the process of improving his play.
