Tennis is an outdoor sport which can be played between two players or four players. Bernd has a 1-2 career Davis Cup record all in singles, playing in SF ties vs. Russia in 1994 to 1995. He got the singles career titles in 1992 at Cologne, was the Bastad finalist in 1994 and in 1995 he was the finalist at Indianapolis. His doubles career title was in 1993 at Schenectady. Bernd improved his year end ranking for three consecutive years and began his year with strength which upset the Number 9 Rusedski in the initial match at Doha. One month later he reached QF, Quarter Finals in San Jose after qualifying. In April, he reached the tour SF, Semi Finals in Hong Kong, defeating the Number 5 Rafter, Steven and Bjorkman before losing to Becker. Bernd reached the third position in Tokyo one week later, pushing the record to 9-6. He slumped after winning four of the next 11 matches. He posted his victory over Norman in 1st RD, Round at Roland Garros. Finally Bernd finished with 8-9 record on hard and 4-5 on clay He surpassed the 2 million dollar mark in his career. Bernd Karbacher is one of the most well known Tennis players who have found a place for himself in the world of Tennis. His special ability of power combined with flexibility has helped him to become unique in his own sense.
