Andrei Cherkasov
Tennis is an outdoor sport which can be played between two players or four players. Players utilize a stringed racquet to hit a rubber ball, hollow inside covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court. In some places tennis is referred to as lawn tennis. This game started in England and was the most popular amongst the upper class of society. Presently tennis is an Olympic sport, as well as, it is played in various tournaments including the four Grand Slams in many countries, by people of all ages and classes. There are three different court surfaces it is played on namely, clay court, grass court and hardcourt. Depending on the surface, each one provides a different movement of speed and bounce for the ball, which in turn affects the level of play of individual players. Andrei Cherkasov was born on July 4, 1970, in Ufa, Russia. Cherkasov is a Right-handed player, with a height of five feet eleven inches and weighing 75 pounds. She is a former professional tennis player from Russia. Andrei enjoyed an outstanding junior career, finishing number three in the world in 1987. He reached U.S. open juniors final in 1987 and Orange Bowl 16s final in 1986 and 18s final in 1987.
In 1988, he won German 2 Satellite and broke into top 200 made Davis Cup debut and played in Olympic Games. In 1987, he finished runner-up at Italian 4 Satellite. Andrei won inaugural event in Moscow and first ATP tour title in Moscow in 1990. In 1991 he successfully defended Moscow title, saving two match points in final finalist at Brussels and doubles finalist at Moscow reached career-high number 13. In 1992 he reached SF at Milan, Bolzano, and Barcelona Olympics and surpassed 1 million dollars in career earnings. In 1993 he reached claycourt finals at Bologna and Bucharest, and saved three match points in 3-hour, 54-minute victory over Gaudenzi at Tel Aviv. In 1994 he reached SF at Cologne Challenger and QF in Tel Aviv 1995 winner at Singapore Challenger. In 1996 he qualified at Australian Open, Dubai and Monte Carlo Mercedes Super 9 event.
