The 1924 Olympics were held on May 4, 1924 at Paris and represented the summer Olympic VIII games. Finnish runner Paavo Nurmi won five gold medals to add to the three he had won in 1920. The event also marked leading position for United States of America with 45 gold medals, 27 silver medals and 27 bronze medals. The 1924 Olympics concluded with a closing ceremony that was held in July, 1924.
