Houston Dynamo is a football club based in Houston, Texas that plays in the MLS (Major League Soccer). This club was founded on December 15, 2005 when the San Jose Earthquakes were relocated, due to San Jose’s failure to secure a soccer-specific stadium. All the players and coaches of San Jose Earthquakes moved the Houston; however, the team’s name, logo, history, and statistics were not transferred. Dominic Kinnear is the coach of this club.

The name “Dynamo” refers to the industrial economy of Houston and is an allusion to the various Eastern European soccer teams who are called “Dynamo”, most notably FC Dynamo Moscow and FC Dynamo Kyiv. This club plays its home games at Robertson Stadium, a multi-use stadium in Houston, Texas located on the campus of the University of Houston. It has a capacity of 32,000 people. The club signed a three-year lease to play at this stadium while plans for a soccer-specific stadium are finalized.

The official supporters’ groups of this club are the Texian Army and El Batallion. Some of the current players of this club are: Pat Onstad, Eddie Robinson, Chris Aloisi, Paul Dalglish, Brad Davis, Julian Nash, Ricardo Clark, Dwayne De Rosario, Alejandro Moreno, Craig Waibel, Mpho Moloi, Wade Barrett, Brian Ching and Adrian Serioux.
