Club Deportivo Motagua
Club Deportivo Motagua or simply Motagua, is a Honduran football club based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. It plays in the Liga Nacional de Honduras (the first and highest division of football in Honduras). This club is one of the most successful and renowned of Honduras. Club Deportivo Motagua was founded on August 29, 1928. Ramón “El Primitivo” Maradiaga is the coach of this club. Motagua has won 10 national championships.
This club plays its home games at Estadio Tiburcio Carias Andino, a multi-use stadium in Tegucigalpa, Honduras with a capacity of 35,000 people. The fans of Motagua are usually known as “Los Azurra” and “Los Revolucionarios”. Some of the most notable former players of this club are: Alfonso Ucles Sierra, Nery Medina, Armando Caceres Vijil, Armando Sosa, Fermin Navarro, Ramón “El Primitivo” Maradiaga, César Augusto “El Nene” Obando and Amado Guevara.
