New England Revolution


New England Revolution is a football club based in Foxborough, Massachusetts that plays in the MLS (Major League Soccer). Even though the club is based in Foxborough, the club represents all of New England. New England Revolution was one of the ten founding clubs of Major League Soccer. The name “Revolution” refers to the involvement of the New England region in the American Revolution. The nickname of this club is the Revs.

This club has never won a major title; however, throughout the years, the revs have made it to three finals: the 2001 US Open Cup and the MLS Cup in 2002 and 2002, coincidentally losing all three to the Los Angeles Galaxy. Red Bull New York (originally known as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars) is the main rival of New England Revolution. This club plays its home games at Gillette Stadium, a facility with a capacity of 68,756 people.

Steve Nicol is the coach of New England Revolution.
