Wilson

Wilson is a world renowned company that specializes in sporting goods and accessories. It is owned by the Finnish parent company Amer Sports, which was originally established in 1950 as an industrial conglomerate that included interests as diverse as ship owning, tobacco products and publishing. Today, Amer Sports also owns the brands Atomic Austria, Suunto, Salomon and Precor, and employs 6,600 people. Amer Sports reported revenue of 1.364 billion Euros for the year 2005.

While the company is widely recognized for its tennis racquets, used (among many others) by Pete Sampras to win 14 grand slams, Wilson actually offers products for a broad range of activities, such as volleyball, soccer, tennis, squash, badminton, baseball, football, golf, racquetball, fastpitch and slowpitch. Wilson’s football factory in Ohio is the exclusive provider for the NFL since 1941, and Wilson’s tennis balls are the official products of both the US Open and the Australian Open.

Wilson’s football line of products includes soccer balls (both professional and recreational), protective gear (competitive and recreational shinguards) and bags (including travel bags, etc).
