Chicago Fire
Chicago Fire is a football club based in Bridgeview, Illinois that plays in the MLS (Major League Soccer). The foundation of this club took place on October 8th, 1997 on the 126th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. In 1998, on their first season in the league, the club won the MLS Cup; it also won the US Open Cup in 1998, 2000 and 2003.
This club plays its home games at Toyota Park, a soccer-specific stadium and concert venue developed at a cost of more than $100 million, with a capacity of approximately 20,000 people. FC Dallas (originally the Dallas Burn) is the main rival of Chicago Fire. Since 2001, both play for the Brimstone Cup, which goes to the team that wins the season series between them. Dave Sarachan is the manager of this club. Some of the most notable former players of Chicago Fire are: DaMarcus Beasley, Carlos Bocanegra, Jorge Campos, Roman Kosecki, Peter Nowak, Ante Razov, Hristo Stoichkov, Josh Wolff and Eric Wynalda. Some of the current players of this club are: C.J. Brown, Chad Barrett, Thiago, Chris Armas, Tony Sanneh, Justin Mapp, Zach Thornton, Ryan Johnson, Gonzalo Segares and Andy Herron.
