FC Aarau 1902
Switzerland, officially named the Swiss Confederation is a landlocked Alpine country in Central Europe. The country borders Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, likewise Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. Switzerland is wide recognized by its strong economy in finance and banking, and a long and strong tradition of political and military neutrality.
One of the most popular spectator sports in the country is soccer, in Switzerland the highest division is the Swiss Super League or Axpo Super League, which is played by ten clubs. One of those clubs is the FC Aarau, which is based in Aarau, Aargau. The city is predominantly German-speaking and is situated in the valley of Aar.
FC Aarau was founded in 1902 and its ground Stadion Brugglifeld was built in 1924 and has a capacity for 9, 250 people. The achievements of the FC Aarau in the Swiss Super League includes the championships in 1912, 1914 and 1993, in addition they won the Swiss Cup, which allows the winner to take part in the UEFA Cup championship, in 1985 and in 1982 the Swiss League Cup.
Coaching FC Aarau for the 2006 season there is Urs Schonenberger. The squad is formed by the Schweizers Flavio Schmid, Samuele Preisig, Sven Christ, Sandro Burki, Rainer Bieli, Johan Berisha, Marius Zarn, Gurkan Sermenter, Admir Bilibani, Goran Antic, Massimo Colomba, Samuel Hubber, Altay Kahraman, and Tobias Muller; the Italian goalkeeper Demetrio Alessandro Greco, from Cameroon Patrick Alphonse Begondo and Jean- Pierre Tcheutchoua; the Brazilians Paulo Menezes, Carlos Alberto de Almeida Junior, and Rogerio Luiz da Silva; the Argentinean Fernando Carreño, Djamel Mesbah from France, Mark Fotheringham from Scotland, Hocine Achiou from Argelia and David Opango from Burundi.
