Celtic FC is an Scottish football club founded in 1888, and which belongs to the foremost Scottish Premier League. Its full name is The Celtic Football Club, and its fans have granted it several nicknames: “Bhoys”, and the “Hoops” and “Tic”. They are currently wearing green and white stripes for their uniform; for away matches it has green and black stripes. 


Their home matches are played at the Celtic Park stadium in the suburb of Parkhead in Glasgow. The capacity of this stadium is about 60832 people. This football home ground was renovated in 1995 and was first opened in 1892. The current chairman and president of the club is John McBeth and the manager (coach) is Walter Smith. Since 2005 they have been in the first position of the Scottish Premier League.


The club’s latest results have been completely satisfactory, taking into consideration that they won three (3) matches out of five (5) during the last two weeks of July 2006 and the three first weeks of August 2006. From the other two (2) matches, one was tied and the other was a minimal loss against Hearts FC of 1-2. They stand in the first (1st) position with 10 points of the Premier Division of the UEFA.


Scotland’s Football Association was founded in 1873; its UEFA affiliation was in 1954 and its FIFA affiliation was in 1910.
