Malmo FF
Malmo is the third largest city in Sweden. It is one of the earliest and most industrialized towns of Scandinavia and it is known by its beautiful old buildings and several parks, likewise its popular shops and stores.
The most popular football team in the city is Malmo FF, playing in the top-level Allsvenskan. The club was founded in 1910 and has been one of the most successful teams in the history of the Sweden soccer, winning 15 national championships titles, 14 national cup titles and has played a final in the European Champions Cup. The1970s and 1980s were the most successful years for Malmo FF when they won the league several times.
The team has played in the highest league, Allsvenskan, the majority of the seasons during their existence; however in 1999 Malmo FF was relegated from the league for first time in 63 seasons. The 2000 season was the return of the Malmo to the Allsvenskan and they achieved the championship again two years later in the 2002 season.
The Malmo Stadion is the ground of this club. It was built in 1951 and has a capacity for 26,500 people. Its architecture is pretty similar to the Nya Ullevi, the biggest stadium in Scandinavia. Both stadiums were built for the 1958 FIFA World Cup, which was hosted in Sweden, and was won by Brazil, who beat Sweden 5-2 in the final for their first title.
