Club América or simply América, is a Mexican football club that plays in the Primera División (the first division of Mexican football). América is one of the most popular and successful football clubs in Mexico. Club América and bitter rivals Chivas de Guadalajara are tied for most national championships with a total of 10. Luis Fernando Tena is the coach of this club. América plays its home games at Estadio Azteca, the home stadium of the Mexican National Team and the only stadium ever to host two World Cup final matches (in 1970 and in 1986).

This club is the current champion of the CONCACAF and will play in the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup (formerly the FIFA Club World Championship), representing the CONCACAF region. Some of the most notable former players of Club América are: Daniel Brailovsky, Antonio Carlos Santos, Jose Alves “Zague”, François Omam-Biyik, Carlos Reinoso, Ivan Zamorano, Enrique Borja, Alfredo Tena, Javier Aguirre, Carlos Hermosillo, Ricardo Pelaez, Luis Roberto Alves “Zague”, Pavel Pardo, and Kalusha Bwalya.
