Stade Rennais FC
Stade Rennais Football Club is a French football club based in the city of Rennes. This club is currently playing in their 47th season in Ligue 1 (the top division of French football); it was founded in 1901 as Stade Rennais Université Club. In 1971, the club assumed its current name. Rennes finished in fourth place in the standings of the 2004-2005 Ligue 1 campaign; it was the best ever position of the club, securing them automatic qualification for the group stages of the UEFA Cup.
The President of Stade Rennais FC is Emmanuel Cueff and the Club Secretary is Patrick Fretel. Pierre Dréossi is the head coach of this club. Rennes plays its home games at the Stade de la Route de Lorient, a football stadium in Rennes. The stadium was rebuilt in 2001 and has a capacity of 31,127 people.
