FC Honka


FC Honka is a Finnish soccer team, located in Tapiola, Espoo. It was advanced into the Finnish premier league or Veikkausliiga, for the first occasion in its history, at the conclusion of the 2005 term. The team's administrator is Mika Lehkosuo, and it plays its home games at Tapiolan urheilupuisto. It was originally established in 1953 as Tapion Honka; it altered its name in 1975 to FC Honka. FC Honka is mainly well-known in Finland for its wide-ranging youth plan with more than 1000 youth team members playing in an assortment of different age groups.

Until the year 2005, FC Honka was considered "almost, but not quite" a club, constantly underachieving in the Finnish First Division called Ykkönen. In the beginning 1990s, the goal was promotion but season after season they failed. In the first years of the 21st century FC Honka was saved at the last instant. In early 2005, the team was transported by Jouko Harjunpää and Jouko Pakarinen, who had a preparation to change FC Honka from failures to a UEFA Champions League contender. In the first season of their conquest of FC Honka, the "Jokkes" controlled to bring together a team which gained the First Division with no difficulty and in addition get up to the semi-finals of the Finnish Cup where they finally lost 1-0 to FC Haka.
