Eintracht Frankfurt: An Example of Fame



In Germany, football is an important part of their culture and one of the most important clubs in this country is called the Eintracht Frankfurt.  This German sports club is, as its name implies, located in Frankfurt , Hesse, which is known worldwide for their football team.  Thus, the Eintracht Frankfurt is not the full name of the club, but Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball A.G.  However, this club has been given many other names with which it is also known, comprising Die Alder (meaning Eagles in English), SGE (Spielgemeinde Eintracht in German), and Launische Diva (meaning moody diva in English).

In addition, the chairman of the Eintracht Frankfurt these days is Heribert Bruchhagen and the Manager of the team is called Friedhelm Funkel.  The Eintracht Frankfurt club was created in 1925, and today they are in the 1. Bundesliga.  Their official uniform is a purple T-shirt, black pants, and purple socks. On the other hand, the uniform used for playing away is white T-shirt, black pants, and white socks.  Moreover, the Eintracht Frankfurt relies on its own home stadium, which is called the Commerzbank-Arena.  This stadium is located in Frankfurt, in the state of Hesse.

As said before, The Eintracht Frankfurt is one of the most famous football teams in Germany.  Some of the honors they rely on are the German champions in 1959, the German Cup champions in 1974, 1975, 1981, and 1988, the UEFA Cup champions in 1980, and the Coppa delle Alpi in 1967.   Besides, they have broken some records, including the Home victory (1974), the Away Victory (1977), the Highest average attendance, season 2005-2006, the most appearances, all competitions total (1972-1991) and the most goals scored, season 1976/1977.
