FC Swift Hesperange
Hailing from the commune / town of Hesperange in southern Luxemburg, FC Swift Hesperange is a European football club that plays in the National Division (First League) in Luxemburg. Created in 1916, the team represents a commune that encompasses five towns: Alzingen, Fentage, Howald, Itzig and Hesperange, with a total population of 11,323 people living in a total area of only 27.2 square kilometers. Hesperange is one of the eleven communes of the canton of Luxemburg, itself one of the four cantons of the district.
FC Swift Hesperange current president is Fernand Laroche and the team is led by Coach Luc Muller. In the 2005-2006 season, FC Swift Hesperange finished in the ninth position of the National Division. FC Swift Hesperange won the Luxemburg Cup for the 1989-1990 season, and competed in the first round of the UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup the following year. The team’s home is the Stade Alphonse Theis, which has a capacity for 3,058 people.
FC Swift Hesperange wears a red and white uniform, and is sponsored by Socofa, Groupe Guy Rollinger, Vimo and Waehert, among others.
