Racing FC Union Luxembourg

Racing FC Union Luxembourg, commonly known only as Racing FC, is the football team representative of Luxemburg City, created in 2005. As the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, the city of Luxemburg is located at the confluence of the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers, in the southern region of the country. It is a cosmopolitan city, just a short distance away from some of the major cities of Western Europe, such as Brussels, Paris and Cologne. It is one of the wealthiest cities in the world, having become a banking and administrative center.

The rather recent birth of Racing FC Union Luxembourg was the result of the merger of sorts of three football clubs of the city: CA Spora Luxemburg, Union Luxemburg and CS Alliance 01. This merger is only the latest in a long line of such occurrences for those clubs, each of them the result of previous mergers of clubs: indeed, CA Spora was born in 1923 from the union of Racing Club Luxemburg and Sporting Club Luxemburg; Union Luxemburg was the result of the merger of US Hollerich Bonnevoie and Jeunesse Sportive Verlorenkost in 1925; and CS Alliance 01 rose from the union of FC Aris Bonnevoie and CS Hollerich. Racing FC Union Luxembourg wears a light blue and white uniform.

In its first season in the National Division, Racing FC Union Luxembourg finished in the seventh position of the National Division, tied in points with FC Wiltz 71. The team led by President Jean Marc Faber and coached by Jacques Miller, plays at the Stade Achille Hammerel in Luxemburg City, with a capacity of 5,800 fans.
