B36 Tórshavn
B36 Tórshavn means Bóltfelagið or "Ball Club". F.C. Tórshavn is a Faroese soccer cub, which plays in the capital, Tórshavn. The club has gained the second qualifying part of the UEFA Champions League in 2006/07 after beating Birkirkara of Malta 5-2 on collective. Then it was eliminated in the third qualifying part of the UEFA Champions League, by losing all matches against Fenerbahce 4-0 and 5-0.
B36 Tórshavn acquired local championships in the years of 1946, 1948, 1950, 1959, 1962, 1997, 2001, and 2005 and local cups in the years of 1965, 1991, 2001, and 2003.
Tórshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands. The town is situated in Tórshavn metropolis on southern Streymoy Island and has more than 19,000 residents. The name of the town means "Thor's Harbour", titled after the god of lightning and thunder in Norse myths. The town was established in the tenth century, and was for the short term occupied during World War II by the British, following the German incursion of mainland Denmark.
