The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Tapio Nurmela was born on January 2, 1975 in Rovaniemi. He is a Finnish Nordic combined athlete and competed during the 1990's. He won a silver medal in the 4 by 5 kilo meter team event at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. Mantila also won two medals in the 4 by 5 kilo meter team event at the Nordic World Ski Championships with gold in 1999 and silver medal in 1997.
 
He was a strong determined player who urged and inculcated a team spirit in all professional athletes of his nation. He is still respected as a high caliber player who can build the professionalism in sport to lead his nation at the foremost position.
