Richard McKinney was born on 12 October 1953. He is an archer and author from Muncie, Indiana in the United States. He is the author of Rick McKinney the simple art of winning, an instructional guide for Olympic recurve archers published in 1996. His achievements include World Target Champion in 1977, 1983, 1985 and World Silver Medalist in 1975, 1978, 1979, 1989 and 1984.
 
Richard McKinney with all his dedication and devotion in his play achieved many goals in his overall athletic career. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. He never lost hope in himself and always fought hard to achieve his goal. He is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics.
