The Olympic Games, or Olympics is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896.The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag.
 
The Nordic combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. Jari Mantila was born on July 14, 1971 in Kotka. He is a Finnish Nordic combined athlete who competed from 1992 to 2003. He won a gold medal in the 4 by 5 km team event at the 2002 Winter Olympics and a silver medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics. He also won five medals at the Nordic World Ski Championships with a gold in the 4 by 5 km team in 1999, 2 silvers for the 15 km individual in 1995, 4 by 5 km team in 1997 and two bronzes in the 4 by 5 km team in 2001 and 2003.
 
Mantila, with all his perseverance and superior approach towards the sport, accomplished many aspirations in his overall athletic career. He possessed the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra effort. He never lost hope in himself and always strived hard to accomplish his ambition.
