Janne Lahtela
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896.The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag. An athlete is a person who has above average physical skills strength, agility, and endurance and is thus suitable for physical activities, in particular, contests. An ancient Greek word for contest was athlos, and those competing in the games were called athletes. Janne Lahtela was born February 28, 1974. He is a Finnish former athlete, who established himself as one of the most dominant persons in the history of moguls skiing. Lahtela won a gold medal in the mogul’s final of 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Four years earlier, he had taken a silver medal in front of his cousin Sami Mustonen, who took bronze. He has also won the moguls skiing World Cup five times and became a World Champion in 1999. Lahtela, with all his perseverance and superior approach towards the sport, accomplished many aspirations in his overall athletic career. He possessed the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra effort. He never lost hope in himself and always strived hard to accomplish his ambition.
