The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Jani Nikanor Sievinen was born on March 31, 1974 in Viht. He is a former medley swimmer from Finland, who won the silver medal in the 200 m individual medley at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. With Antti Kasvio, he was Finland's leading swimmer in the 1990s.
 
Sievinen won his first title at the 1993 European Swimming Championships in Sheffield and became the world champion one year later at the 1994 World Aquatics Championships in Rome, Italy in the 200m Individual Medley. Sievinen competed in four Summer Olympics for his country, starting in 1992.
 
The desire to use his talents for the Glory and Honor of his God and Country propelled him in an attempt to excel at the highest level of sporting achievement to inspire future generations of his countrymen to do the same upholding the highest standards of patriotic fervor.
