Jere Lehtinen
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896.The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag. Jere Lehtinen was born on June 24, 1973 in Espoo, Finland. He is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward. He plays as a left-winger, but was a right-winger before moving to NHL, National Hockey League. He was drafted 88th overall in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota North Stars. After the franchise moved to Dallas, he won the Frank J. Selke Trophy 3 times as the league's best defensive forward, and the Stanley Cup in 1999. Lehtinen has also represented Finland in international tournaments, winning 1 silver and 2 bronze Olympic medals, a silver medal at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey, and was part of the well-known first line of Team Finland. Finnish fans dubbed him the Ankkalinna line in the 1995 world championships with Saku Koivu and Ville Peltonen, winning Finland's only IIHF, International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship gold medal to date. Up to now, Lehtinen is the only Finnish player to have won a World Championships gold medal and a Stanley Cup. He played and earned in an International play such as 1994 Winter Olympics, bronze medal, 1995 World Championships, gold medal, 1998 Winter Olympics, 2004 World Cup of Hockey, silver medal, and 2006 Winter Olympics, silver medal. He never lost hope in himself and always fought hard to achieve his goal.
