The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C., the modern games started from 1896. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent at least one color of the participating country’s national flag.
 
Yelena, or Elena, Produnova was born on February 15, 1980. She is a female Russian gymnast, living in Rostov-on-Don. She has won a silver medal in the team competition and a bronze medal in the beam competition at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She is known for her innovative and powerful skills on the vault and floor exercise.

Yelena overcame a heel injury early on in her elite career in 1996, as well as an ankle injury in 1998. The same year she had been qualified 1st at the Russian Nationals held in the year 1998 and finished 5th in the All-Around and 3rd on the vault. During the 1998 Cottbus Elena finished at the 2nd rank on the vault, 1st on the balance beam, and 2nd on the floor. At the University Games in the year 1999 she won vault and beam titles, and also finished at the 2nd ranking and first in the team competition. She again won the all around title at the Russian Nationals in 2000.
