Denny Morrison

The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Denny Morrison was born on September 8, 1985 in Chetwynd, British Columbia. He is a Canadian speed skater from Fort St. John, British Columbia. At the 2006 Winter Olympics, Morrison won a silver medal as part of the Canadian men's speed skating pursuit team. As a member of Canada's pursuit team, he holds the world record time.
Individually, Morrison won silver in the 1500m and a bronze in the 1000m at a World Cup event in Turin in 2005-2006.

Denny Morrison turned more than a few Olympic veterans heads at a speed skating World Cup event in Torino, Italy on December 11th, 2005. The 20 year old from Fort St. John Before Christ had the second-best time at the event, and the third fastest in history, in the 1500m. He holds a Canadian Junior Record in the men’s 500m, 1000m, and 1500m. He is the 2004 Canadian Junior Champion and ranks 5th in Canada in the 1500m. So far on the World Cup circuit this season he has won silver in the 1500m and bronze in the 1000m in Torino, Italy. He was placed 4th in the 1500m at the World Cup in Heerennveen, The Netherlands and won silver in Calgary with a new Canadian record in the 1500m.

Morrison is also a member of the men’s 3200m pursuit team that set a new world record that year. The 3200m pursuit will be a new event at the Torino Olympics and Morrison along with Steven Ekm, and Arne Dankers took gold in the event’s first-ever World Cup, smashing the old world record held by the Netherlands.
