Darren Campbell was born on September 12th, 1973 in Manchester, England and was an English sprint athlete, competing in the 100 and 200 meter, as well as the 4 by 100 meter relay. He was both a talented athlete and footballer during his early stages. His first national success in athletics was a gold medal at the English Schools Championships in the 200 meter. He then won the 100 and 200 meter gold medals at the 1991 European Junior Championships held in Thessaloniki, Greece, as well as a gold medal in the 4 by 100m. A year later, he won silver medals at the 1992 World Junior Championships, in the sprint double, and a gold medal in the 4 by 100m relay.
 
His senior worldwide first appearance came at the Stuttgart World Championships in 1993, as part of the 4 by 100m team. After returning from injury the next year, Campbell took a bronze medal in the individual 100 meter event and gold in the 4 by 100m relay at the 2002 European Championships.
 
Darren Campbell with all his dedication and devotion in his play achieved many goals in his overall athletic career. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. He never lost hope in himself and always fought hard to achieve his goal. He is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics.
