Vijay Singh

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.

Vijay Singh was born on 22 February, 1963 in Lautoka, Fiji. His height is 6 feet 2 inches and his weight is 208 pounds. He turned pro in 1982. His Nationwide Tour victories are 2005 Chattanooga Classic. He began the 2005 season with a T7 finish at the BellSouth Panama Championship and concluded the event at 4-under-par 276, four strokes behind champion, Vance Veazey. Next top 10 finish was posted at the Rheem Classic, where an 8 under 272 was good for a seventh-place performance. He broke through for his first Tour win at the Chattanooga Classic. He outlasted Joe Daley in a four-man playoff when he rolled in a 20-foot birdie putt on the sixth extra hole. He cemented his position inside the top 20 on the money list with T7 finishes at the Alberta Classic and the Albertsons Boise Open, giving him six top-10 finishes that season.

As Rookie on the PGA Tour, Singh finished 15th on 2005 Nationwide Tour money list. He is the member of the Nationwide Tour in 1999, 2001 and 2003-2005 and improved his position on the money list each season from 196 to 116 to 84 to 40 to 15. Posted a career-high six top-10s in 2005 and picked up first win on that Tour at the Chattanooga Classic. He was named 1995 Missouri Amateur of the Year.

He is one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players. Sheer determination, concentration and self confidence has helped him through out his professional career of playing golf to achieve what other players can only imagine of.
