Troy Matteson is a Golfer in the PGA, Professional Golfers' Association who was born on Nov 8, 1979 in Rockledge, Florida. His height is 6 feet and his weight is 185 pounds. He started playing golf when he was 7 years old and became a Pro in 2003. He led his Anderson team to two 4A state titles while also a two time state medalist. He carried a 3.28 grade point average and was a two time academic All American. Matteson won six times in his career at Georgia Tech and won the 2003 NCAA, National Collegiate Athletic Association East Regional by 7 shots. He had 15 top 10 finishes in 43 career starts. He also ranked fourth all time at Tech with a 71.91 scoring average behind Bryce Molder, David Duval and Matt Kuchar. Matteson made the cut in three of four starts on the Nationwide Tour in 2003.
 
In 2004, Matteson made the cut in 18 of 28 starts during his rookie campaign on the Nationwide Tour and ranked number 52 on the final money list. He became the first Georgia Tech player to win the NCAA individual championship in 2002. Matteson, a PGA Tour rookie was a two time winner on the Nationwide Tour in 2005. He entered the final round with a two shot cushion before firing a 3 under 69 to finish one shot behind winner Roger Tambellini.
 
Troy Matteson’s nationwide Tour victories include the 2005 Virginia Beach Open and the Mark Christopher Charity Classic Pres by Adelphia. His best PGA Tour Finishes in 2006 with the Reno Tahoe Open. His current year PGA Tour includes the second round of Ford Championship at Doral, which is his career best. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players.
