Shigeki Maruyama
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Shigeki Maruyama was born in Chiba, Japan. His height is five foot seven inches and weighs 185 pounds. In 1993, his first victory came at Pepsi Ubekousan and in 1997, he won four times at the Japan Golf Tour Japan PGA, Professional Golfers Association Championship, Pocari Sweat Yomiuri Open, PGA Match Play Promise Cup and Golf Nippon Hitachi Cup. In 2000, he became the first Japanese player to top 1 million dollars in one Tour season. He was 3rd in the top 5 and included among seven top 10, his best a T2 with Tiger Woods at Buick Invitational, four strokes behind Phil Mickelson. His high point came during qualifying for U.S. Open. He shot 13 under 58 at Woodmont in Rockville during first round. His second round was 74, giving him total of 132 and second place at qualifier to medalist David Berganio 130. He earned a spot on International Presidents Cup team and finished with a 1-2-0 record. Shigeki Maruyama with all his dedication and devotion in his play achieved many goals in his overall career. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts.
