Shaun Micheel
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Shaun Micheel was born in Orlando, Florida. Shaun was honored with the 1994 Sons of Confederate Veterans Award for Bravery after saving two people from a sinking car while at a golf Tournament in New Bern. In 1993, he earned first Tour card with T37 at the PGA, Professional Golfer’s Association Tour Qualifying Tournament. In 1996, he was T9 at PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament to regain his Tour card. In 2000, he enjoyed his best season on the PGA Tour thanking to a then-career-high three top-10s and four top-25s, and after earning only $35,689 as a professional in 43 PGA Tour events prior to 2000, he nearly cracked the top 100 in earnings with $467,431in 31 events. In 2003, he became the fifth consecutive first-time major winner with his victory at the PGA Championship and finished 32nd on the money list, the highest in his six years on Tour. Shaun jumped from 169th to 46th in the Official World Golf Ranking with the win. He held the lead outright after 36 holes and shared the lead with Chad Campbell through 54 holes. His Four top-10s were a career-best. He made 12 cuts in 29 starts and posted lone top-10 of the season in July with a T7 at the Cialis Western Open. It was his first top-10 in more than a year and just his second in 50 starts since winning the 2003 PGA Championship. He shared first-round lead with three others after an opening 7-under 65 at the 84 LUMBER Classic, and finished T42. He finished the season on a positive note with a T5 at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic, posting four rounds in the 60s.
Shaun Micheel was one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players.
