Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play.
 
Scott Verplank was born in Dallas, Texas. He had a relationship with Novo Nordisk, both corporately and medically, as they provide Scott's insulin for his diabetes. He played on the U.S. Walker Cup team in 1985. In 1988 he earned second Tour title at the Buick Open, where a final-round 66 produced two-stroke victory over Doug Tewell. In 1992, he missed most of season and the prior year, due to first elbow surgery. In 1999, he made 26 starts, making cut in 19, finished in the top 10 once during the year with solo eighth at the John Deere Classic.
 
In 2001, he finished in the top 10 on the money list and earned over $2 million for first time in his career, completing the season with a victory, he opened with an 8-under 62 to take first-round lead at Verizon Byron Nelson Classic. He also shared second and third round leads after rounds of 67-68. Closing 66 produced playoff with Robert Damron. He earned fourth PGA, Professional Golfer’s Association.
 
In 2004, despite of suffering from plantar fascitis, an ailment in his right foot for much of the year; he finished among the top 30 money winners. On the first playoff hole, Parry holed his second shot from the fairway on the par-4 18th for an eagle and the victory over Verplank. He matched his career-best performance in a major with a T7 at the British Open. His other T7 came at the 2001 PGA Championship. His first top-10 of the season came at The Players Championship, where he finished T2, one behind winner Fred Funk, after playing 31 holes on Monday.
 
Scott Verplank was one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players.
