Sandy Lyle was born in Shrewbury, England. His height is 6 foot and weight 187 pounds. He was member of five successive European Ryder Cup teams in 1979, 81, 83, 85, 87 and the 1977 Great Britain Ireland Walker Cup team, and awarded Member of British Empire. After becoming first British winner of Masters, put Scottish dish haggis on menu at Champions' Dinner the next year. Sandy was winner of 29 Tournaments worldwide, including five on the PGA Tour and also winner of 1985 British Open and 1988 Masters. He was finished seventh on 1988 Tour money list after winning three times. Sandy was won individual title at 1980 World Cup of Golf, led European Tour Order of Merit three times. Sandy was finished T32 at the 2005 British Open, his lone cut made in four starts. He was made the cut at both the 2004 Masters and British Open, and recorded one top-25 on the European Tour, a T11 at the Irish Open.
His best finishes PGA Tour such as in 1985 British Open Championship, 1986 Greater Greensboro Open, in1987 Tournament Players Championship, in 1988 Phoenix Open, KMart Greater Greensboro Open, Masters Tournament. His recent PGA Tour Best Round as 73 at Round 1, British Open Championship, at Round 2, British Open Championship. He possessed superior approach and dedication to the game which made him stand out from the other players.
