A final-round, 4-under 68 pushed him to 18-under-par 270, one shot ahead of Sean O'Hair. He made up for a poor ball-striking day with a skillful scrambling touch, including draining a 70-foot chip for birdie on the fourth hole. He collected a career-best $90,000 for his efforts to move into the top-five on the money list. He finished T16 at the BellSouth Panama Championship to open the season. He was Rookie on the PGA Tour after finishing T18 at the 2005 Qualifying Tournament. He exempt to final stage after finishing number 34 on the 2005 Nationwide Tour money list and that was his sixth trip to final stage.
