Matt Kuchar
Golf is an outdoor sport in which a player as an individual or from varied teams strikes a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The sport does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. Matthew Gregory Kuchar is one of the finest golf players who set an appreciated position for himself in the PGA, Professional Golfers’ Association. Kuchar was born on 21st of June, 1978 in the Winter Park suburb of Florida. He is a 6 feet 4 inches tall contender with a weight of 195 pounds who swings right and made his first appearance as a professional in the 2000 season. Kuchar earned the 1998 ACC, Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year title and compiled six career collegiate victories for Tech. In the 1997 season, he became an US amateur champion following three consecutive wins by Tiger Woods but eventually lost in the quarterfinals in 1998. As a sophomore in 1998 at Georgia Tech, Kuchar finished 21st at the Masters ranking and 14th at US Open. The 2001 season marked a successful season for Kuchar where he earned the PGA Tour card through sponsor exemptions. He ranked second behind Charles Howell in PGA Tour non-member earnings with 572,669 dollars in only 11 starts. After missing the cut in his first three PGA Tour starts, Kuchar secured his card for 2002 with two big finishes and earned first top-10 in PGA Tour event in sixth start as professional. Kuchar opened the 2004 season with a bang following a T4 position at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Two months later, he earned his first victory at The Honda Classic event. Kuchar struggled through a difficult season of 2003 which saw him fall out of the top 125 on the money list. However, he made a successful comeback in the 2005 season PGA Tour and entered 21st ranking in the money list and nine top 10 finishes. He also compiled the Nationwide Tour Victories with a first position in the 2006 Henrico County Open. Kuchar’s superior approach and dedication towards the sport made him surpass the other players of his epoch.
