Matt Hansen

Golf is an outdoor sport in which a player as an individual or from varied teams strikes a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The sport does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles.

Matt Hansen is one of the finest golf players who set an appreciated position for himself in the PGA, Professional Golfers’ Association. Hansen started playing golf at the age of 14 years because of his interest in the sport. Other than a successful career in golf, he was also fourth ranked at the National Junior Track Olympics in the high jump in 1990 and was Junior State Champion Trap Shooter.

Hansen earned a PGA Tour card as a rookie after finishing T18 at the 2005 Qualifying Tournament. He made it through all three stages after failing to make it to finals in his first two attempts. Earlier, he never played in a tour event and finished T28 at the 2005 Albertsons Boise Open in his only start on the Nationwide Tour. He also competed at the Canadian Tour in 2003 to 2004 season owing to his All-America selection in 2002.

Hansen also shot a 59 mark in March 2004 at Stevinson Ranch and finished fourth at the National Junior Olympics in the high jump in 1990. Hansen’s best PGA Tour finishes include T18 at the 2006 Deutsche Bank Championship and T28 at the 2005 Nationwide Tour of Albertsons Boise Open.

Matt Hansen’s superior approach and dedication towards the sport made him surpass the other players of his epoch. However, he gained prominence only after he won the first PGA title in his career and became an international celebrity and a symbol of hope to millions.
