He is a member of Wake Forest's in 1986 NCAA, National Collegiate Athletic Association Championship team, along with current PGA Tour player Billy Andrade. In 1992 he first qualified for Tour at Qualifying Tournament. He captured the 1984 Florida High School Championship. In 1995 he was 27th at Qualifying School, earning membership in 1996. He finished 69th on Nationwide Tour money list with 27,430 dollars, driven by T5s at Cleveland Open and Buffalo Open.
 
Leonard Earl Mattiace with all his dedication and devotion in his play achieved many goals in his overall career. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. He never lost hope in himself and always fought hard to achieve his goal. He is still remembered as one of the best player in the history of golf.
