Joe Durant
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. PGA stands for Professional Golfers' Association Tour.
Joseph Scott Durant was born on April 7, 1964 in Pensacola, Florida. His height is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs 170 lbs. He swings from right. He made his debut in 1987. His PGA Tour Victories are 1998 Motorola Western Open, 2001 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and Genuity Championship. His Nationwide Tour Victories include 1996 Nike Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic.
In 1992 he earned first PGA Tour card at Qualifying Tournament. As an amateur in 1996 he finished third on Nationwide Tour money list with four top-three finishes. He won Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic by one stroke over Dave Rummells and Brett Quigley. In 1997 he had successful return to PGA Tour, finishing 100th on the money list on strength of three top-10s and led the Tour in total driving. In 2000 he returned to the Top 100 after falling out in 1999 due to an injured rib that hindered his play most of the season.
In 2001 he finished in Top 15 on Tour money list for first time in career. He earned more money in first nine starts of season than in entire Tour career which covered 128 events. In 2004 he finished in the top 100 on the PGA Tour money list for the fifth time in his fist nine years, including second straight and finished first on Tour in Greens in Regulation, fourth in Driving Accuracy and fifth in Total Driving.
In 2005 season, he finished in top 100 for the third straight season and earned more than 1 million for the third time in his 10-year career. After bogeying the final five holes of his third round at The Honda Classic, he began the fourth round at The Country Club at Mirasol's Sunrise Course with seven consecutive birdies. He is one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players.
