Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. James David McGovern was born on February 5, 1965 Teaneck, New Jersey. His height is 6 feet 1 inches and his weight is 200 lbs. He is 41 year old and completed his studies at Old Dominion. He made his debut in 1988. Jim and his family were honored with the Metropolitan Golf Writers Family of the Year Award for 1996. He is the winner of the 1988 Metropolitan Open, 1987 Metropolitan Amateur, and 1987 Virginia State Intercollegiate Champion.
 
James David McGovern made one PGA Tour cut in 2005, a T47 at the B.C. Open where he was three back entering final round. He recorded a T2 on the Nationwide Tour in the season-opening BellSouth Panama Championship and finished 43rd on that Tour's money list. He enjoyed his best season on the PGA Tour in 1993 when he captured his lone victory, defeating John Huston with birdie on second playoff hole to win the rain-shortened Shell Houston Open. He had two other top-10s that year and finished number 27 on the money list. He is a PGA Tour member from 1991-1999, playing an average of 32 tournaments a year from 1991 to 1998.
 
He is one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players. Sheer determination, concentration and self confidence has helped him through out his professional career of playing golf to achieve what other players can only imagine of.
