Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Jim Furyk was born on May 12, 1970 West Chester, Pennsylvania. His height is 6 feet 2 inches and his weight is 185 lbs. He is 36 years old and completed his college studies from Arizona. He made his debut in 1992. In 2004, Jim Furyk did not have a win. He played in 14 events, the lowest total in his 11-year Tour career, and finished outside the top 100 on the money list for the first time. He also played in the first two events of the season in Hawaii.
 
In 2003 he collected first major championship of his career, the U.S. Open at Olympia Fields near Chicago. He claimed a victory in sixth consecutive season and became 57th player to make the U.S. Open his first career major championship. With four rounds in the 60s, he captured Buick Open to win twice for first time in a season and jumped to a career best number 3 in the Official World Golf Ranking. In 1999, he missed cut at AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, but earned fifth PGA Tour victory at the Doral-Ryder Open. He was a member of his second U.S. Presidents Cup Team.
 
In 1995 he recorded first PGA Tour victory at Las Vegas Invitational. He grabbed share of lead with David Edwards after third-round 65 at TPC, Tournament Players Club at Summerlin. He went on to one-stroke victory over Mayfair, three weeks later, earned unofficial victory at Lincoln-Mercury Kapalua International.
 
He is one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players. Sheer determination, concentration and self confidence has helped him through out his professional career of playing golf to achieve what other players can only imagine of.
